PÄRLA began with one simple — yet radical — idea: eliminate plastic waste from your oral care routine.
Our founders are dentists. They knew that the average person uses around 1,000 toothpaste tubes in their lifetime. Multiply that by 68 million people in the UK, and the scale of the problem becomes hard to ignore. Globally, 20 billion toothpaste tubes end up in landfill or our oceans every single year. In the UK alone, that figure is 300 million — each one taking over 500 years to decompose.
We launched our toothpaste tablets as a direct answer to that problem — no tube, no plastic, no compromise on clean. Since then, we’ve built a full range of plastic-free oral care products and helped thousands of people across the world make #onesmallchange for their oral health and our planet.
But we know our work doesn’t stop there.
For us, sustainability means restoring the planet and protecting people. Whether it’s our staff, our customers, our suppliers, or our communities — we are committed to centring people and planet in everything we do.

We’re committed to supporting the global ambition to limit global warming to 1.5°C, in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement. To achieve this, we actively embed sustainability into everything we do — from choosing clean energy options to transport our products, to using 100% recyclable materials for all our tubes, bottles, and other packaging.
